Angelo “Mike” San Paolo, 65, of Springfield, was set free from pain and suffering after a long & courageous battle with Leukemia on Sunday, August 6. Upon graduating from St. Agnes High School, he served 6 years in the Air Force including a year in Vietnam. He retired from the Missouri Department of Revenue, after 25 years of service, and was a member of St Agnes Cathedral. He enjoyed many family vacations but truly loved ‘fishing’ with his father, brothers and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Linda, son Tony San Paolo, daughter Angela and husband Michael Gomez. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Anthony, Annessa, Nicholas and Isabella; brothers Steve and wife Carolyn, who preceded him in death, Timothy and wife Andrea, David and wife Mary; sister-in-law Shirley and husband Kendall Irwin; his aunt and Godmother Rosina San Paolo and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be at Greenlawn East on August 9, 2012 from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. with a rosary service to follow. Funeral Mass to be held on Friday August 10, 2012 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Agnes Cathedral with burial at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery. Although he will be missed by everyone, we know in our hearts that he is in a good place fishing forever with all his loved ones that have gone before him. Mike’s wish for all of us would be to simply love one another.
