Anna Christine Ellis, 83, Springfield, died at 12:10 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Mercy Hospital Springfield, after a sudden illness. She was born in Springfield, on February 15, 1930, to Louie and Bessie Love.
Anna was a former nurse’s assistant for Cox Hospital; she had also worked as a waitress at Howard Johnson’s restaurant. She was a life-long Baptist and member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was married to Lewis Truman Ellis August 20, 1948; he preceded her in death in 1971. She was also preceded in death by two daughters Ruth Anna Ellis, Carol Sue Ellis; one son, Harold Love; a son-in-law, Charles Mason; and one brother, Louis Eugene Love.
Survivors include her two sons, John D. Ellis and James R. Ellis, two daughters, Katherine M. Keithley and husband Mike, and Norma J. Mason; a sister, Etta Mae Hoague; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be Monday, March 25, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with Rev. Lew Cort officiating. Burial will follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., in the funeral home.
