Anna Iona Carroll, age 94, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, at Robberson Prairie Cemetery with grandson Michael Carroll officiating.
Iona was born February 15,1932 in Willard, Missouri, to parents Ida Belle Melton and Ted R. Melton. She graduated from Bois’ D’ Arc high school and took business courses at Southwest Missouri State College. On January 3, 1954, she married Charles Frederick Carroll, a happy marriage that lasted 59 years until his death in 2013. She worked as a bookkeeper at Cranks Drug Store, Katz Drug Store, Foremost Dairy, and Commerce Bank.
Iona enjoyed spending time with her family. For many years the family had a cabin on Table Rock Lake and spent summer weekends there where they enjoyed water skiing. She spent lots of time with her grandchildren. After retirement she was active at the senior citizen center taking dance classes and playing cards. She was an excellent bridge player. She was a member of Dale Street United Methodist Church.
Iona was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, siblings: John Melton, Eugene Melton, Lillian (Jo) Pratt, Charles Melton, Phyllis Kelly, Ted Melton, and James Melton, and great grandsons: Harrison Carroll and Theodore Carroll.
Iona is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Douglas Carroll and wife Karla and Nicholas Carroll and wife Charissa, five grandchildren: Zachary Carroll, James Carroll and wife Kimberlee, Michael Carroll and wife Rochelle, Shannon Otradovec and husband Bryan, and Adam Carroll and wife Hannah, and six great grandchildren: Isaac Carroll, Charlotte Carroll, Noah Otradovec, Landon Otradovec, Carolyne Carroll, and Tennis Carroll.
