Anna Mae Auston 81 of Springfield, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Mercy Villa. She was born August 10, 1930 in Springfield, Missouri. She graduated Central High School in 1949 and attended SMSU for two years followed by one year at Drury. She was a mother and a homemaker.
Anna was married to Albert “Wayne” Auston on January 18, 1953.
Anna loved attending lectures at the Women’s Center at Cox South, going to the movies, traveling, shopping and attending Hammons Art Center.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Cates and one step-grandaughter.
Anna is survived by her husband Wayne, son David and his wife Pat Auston, daughter Cyndi Auston Cusick and her husband Thomas and son Michael Auston and one sister Mary Lou Cates Zierold and her family. She is also survived by two grandaughters, two step-grandsons and two step-grandaughters.
Visitation will be Saturday November 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Mercy Villa followed by services at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Ann Payette. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association , Southwest Missouri Chapter.
Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
