Anna Mae Williams, age 91, passed away into God’s Arms on December 31, 2013. She was born February 13, 1922, in Springfield, MO, to Fred and Tishie (Maples) Baker. On August 24, 1942 she married Orville Williams and together they had four children Judy Jefferson (Ed) , Jim Williams, Joyce Tilton (Andy), and Janice Fielding (Charlie). Anna Mae was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she was saved and baptized at the age of 12. She and Orville raised their children in a godly home and she continued her Christian walk until her passing. Anna Mae enjoyed her gospel quartet music, NASCAR “Go Kyle 18” and cooking her famous chicken and dumplings and hot rolls. Anna Mae never met a stranger and will be remembered as a kind, gracious, and caring person. She always met you with a smile and friendly disposition and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Orville; four siblings, Curtis, Leon, Kirby, and Charlene; daughter Judy Jefferson; and grandson, Adam Tilton. Additional survivors include, Jack Baker, Emma Jean Waldren; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was looking forward to her tenth great-grandchild in July.
A celebration of Anna Mae’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2014, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Bro. Fred Reamsnider officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
