Arlene (Temple) Heaton, age 76, of Springfield, Mo. passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 in her home. She was born August 6, 1938 in Stanberry, Mo. She was a member of The Crossing Church. She was a former long-time member of the Baptist Tabernacle, later Valley View Baptist Church, in Walnut Grove, Mo. She was a gate cashier for Springfield Park Board Softball Leagues, for over 30 years, and greatly enjoyed meeting players, families and fans. She was also a bus aide for Willard Schools, and loved being around the children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Oren Leo Heaton; mother, Virginia Faye (Meek) McLaughlin; twin sister, Orinda Darlene (Temple) Angle; and sister, Dorothy Faye (Temple) Wilkerson. She is survived by her children, William Leo Heaton, Virginia Essary, Sandra K. Bellomy, Paula Darlene Mabary, Brian D. Heaton, James Heaton, and Lisa Arlene Helmick and their spouses; twenty eight grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; along with many other family, friends, and loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with Rev. David Garrison officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in High Ridge Cemetery, in Stanberry, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Coampassus of Springfield, or High Ridge cemetery maintenance fund in care of the City of Stanberry.
