The future is never certain, so live immediately. And at the end hope that your life is extraordinary.
On Monday, May 4th, 2026 Arlin 4 Finger Lewis Patterson, at age 44, crossed over the rainbow bridge to join the party on the other side.
Everyone that knew him knows it would be impossible to sum up his life in a paragraph.
To quote Hunter S. Thompson –
“There he goes. One of God’s own prototypes. A high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. “
He lived his life in a way most couldn’t comprehend. Always looking towards that next horizon, but never missing a chance to partake in the sudden, unexpected moments of beauty, joy, and meaning that too often pass us by unrecognized.
He lived his life to the fullest, and all that he was he let shine into the world.
Everywhere he went (and he went EVERYWHERE!) , he touched people’s lives. He was unbreakably loyal to everything and everyone he believed in, and through his crazy, goofy, wild and unafraid approach to life the humble goodness of his soul was undeniable.
He lived genuinely, and we’re fortunate that he walked with us for a while.
Arlin 4 Finger Lewis Patterson is survived by his mother, Judy Mae Patterson, his father, Ralph David Patterson, and his younger brother, David Jacob Patterson all of Rome, Georgia. He is also survived by his sons, Rowdy Ray Mendoza and Arlin Ace Mendoza, both of New Orleans, LA.
He is also survived and survives by the countless people everywhere who love him and call him friend. And that may be the best testament to the remarkable way he lived.
So please come share in remembering the one of a kind man that was such an unexpected blessing in all of our lives.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm in Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, MO
