Arno A. Wehr Jr. was born November 25, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the only child of Arno and Olga Wehr Sr. Arno attended Lane Tech High School where he received rigorous academic training. He also participated in Choir, Basketball, and Track and Field at a high level. Arno received a basketball scholarship to Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and later on Track and Field. He became a member of the Theta Chi fraternity and met his beautiful wife Gayle Siemund. He graduated in 1962 with a B.S. in Business and Engineering.
Arno married Gayle August 24, 1963 and started a family having two children Arno III and Heide while employed with Mobil Oil. In 1972 Arno moved his family to Indian Point, Branson Missouri and became owner/operator of Tribesman Resort building and growing the business until 2021. During time in Branson he became a leader in its development serving as a President of Branson/Hollister Rotary Club and a 32nd degree mason member of the Masonic Lodge of Branson. He was highly involved in the Branson Chamber of Commerce and later the Indian Point Chamber. Arno was an active member of The First Presbyterian Church of Branson serving in leadership roles and the choir. Arno’s passion for the outdoors lead him to share experiences in writing. He published a book and articles for Field and Stream magazine sharing his knowledge and joy of hunting and competitive bass fishing. Arno joined the Lord on March 14, 2024, leaving surviving family: his wife Gayle Wehr of Indian Point, his son Arno Wehr III and wife Dr. Marci Manna of Bradenton, Fl., his daughter Heide (Wehr) Williamson and husband Sean Williamson of Indian Point and granddaughter Ashley (spies) Jennings and husband Carter Jennings of Denver, CO.
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Branson 420 W Main Street Branson Mo 65616 on March 23rd. Visitation 10:00 am -11:00 am Celebration of Life 11:00 am. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery near Branson under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Branson or Boys and Girls Club of Branson or Reeds Spring.
