Marie Myers, 89, Springfield, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 in Mercy Hospital after a short illness. She was born February 19, 1924 in Niangua, Mo. to Porter and Nora (Linder) Letterman.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
She was united in marriage to Richard on December 5, 1942. Marie was a member for over 60 years at the First Free Will Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, and formerly employed by Sears, Dillard’s, Garment Factory, and Lily Tulip.
Marie was one of seven children. Surviving is a sister and her husband Bonnie and Bob Scott of Niangua, Mo., and a brother and his wife, Paul and Coleen Letterman of Marshfield, Mo; one daughter, Madelyn Oehring and her husband Mark, of Springfield, Mo; four grandchildren: Lance and Mary Jane Norris, Lesa and Todd Mowell, Chad and Charley Norris, Lindsay and Shane Stokes; nine-great-grandchildren: Ashley, Riley, Alli, Tanner, Payton, and Brett Norris, and Christopher Cantrell, Caden, and Colbee Mowell. Marie was a loving Mother, sister and Mama. Her family was always her life and she was worshiped by them all.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with Rev. Alvin Hook officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Freewill Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Maranatha Lodge and Mercy Hospital for their loving care.
