Artie Rose Coble
Rose Coble, 94, passed away in her home on February 11, 2013 after a long full life.
Rose was born August 1, 1918 in Springfield, MO to parents John and Ethel Harris. She met and married her husband Bill Coble on January 14, 1939 raising one daughter.
Rose worked many years at Lilly Tulip. After retiring at the age of 54, she began working at her real passion of 30 years, the buying and selling antiques. Rose was one of the early pioneers in the Springfield area in this new business adventure. She found great happiness buying at auctions, estate sales and working her booths at Old Town Flea Market. Rose was a remarkable mother, grandmother, and business women. She will be truly missed.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Bill of 62 years; brothers Jim, Arthur, and LeRoy; son-in-law Jack Alcorn.
She is survived by daughter Sylvia Alcorn; Grandsons Mike Alcorn, Randy Alcorn and wife Cindy, David Alcorn and wife Cheryl, Billy Alcorn and wife Shari; Granddaughter Tammy Mitchell; 11 great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13 from 6-8 pm. Services will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Thursday February 14th at 3 pm. Burial following services will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard, MO.
