Funeral services for Bama Jean Berry age 101 of Springfield, Missouri will be held Monday, February 24, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Christ in Omaha, Arkansas. Bill Arnold will officiate. Burial will follow in the Omaha, Arkansas Cemetery under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
She passed away on February 20, 2020 at the Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab in Hollister.
Bama was born on May 4, 1918 in Bluff Springs, Arkansas the daughter of Everett and Della Wyatt Andrews Curtis. She was a homemaker and taught school for several years in her early life. She had been a resident of Springfield for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Bama was united in marriage to James B. Berry on September 19, 1937 in Harrison, Arkansas and to this union was born three children.
Survivors are two children: Suzy Samsel of Ridgedale, Missouri and Jim Berry of Omaha, Arkansas. Four grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James B. Berry, one son, Michael Berry, one brother, Wallace Curtis and a sister Mava McVey.
