Barbara Ann Fullington, 87, of Springfield, Missouri died March 28, 2026, in her sleep. Barbara was born December 9, 1938, outside Tyler, Texas, to Herman and Ethel Mowery. The family moved to Niangua, Missouri where she graduated high school in 1956.
Barbara met her husband Bob Fulington at the Garbage Can Café at what is now exit 107 off Interstate 44. They were married for 67 years.
Barbara retired from St. John’s hospital now Mercy after 30+ years in the medical records department. She was active with the American Business Women’s Association and volunteered for Crosslines. She enjoyed watching Cardinal’s baseball both St. Louis and Springfield along with Missouri State men’s and women’s basketball. Barbara and Bob were season ticket holders for years.
Barbara is survived by her children, Brent Fullington (Kesa), and Beverly Fullington. Barbara’s sister Linda Mowery, grandchildren Jacque Mattson (Curt), Kristan Bowlin (Adam), Stephanie Flores (Danny Frieze), Phillip Schroff (Marissa) Robert Schroff (Kristof Vajda) and Rachel Schroff, along with 12 great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Ethel Mowery.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before services at the church. Burial will follow at the Marshfield, MO city cemetery.
