Barbara Lorraine Munsey went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, her husband, friends and family on March 10, 2015. She was born May 15, 1934, in Oklahoma City, OK to Vergil and Ada McFeely. Her parents and brother preceded her in death. She worked in a bank until she married Dale Munsey on May 18, 1960. They came to Springfield that same year to attend Baptist Bible College and were married just shy of 50 years when Dale passed away in April 2010. Dale led Barbara to the Lord before they were married, and they faithfully served the Lord together. Barbara enjoyed being a homemaker and serving her family. She is survived by her two children and three grandchildren, Dale Bruce (wife Beth and sons Cody and Wyatt) and Diann (son Zachary). Dale and Barbara joined High Street Baptist Church in 1960. Barbara attended until she went into the nursing home in January of 2014. Dale and Barbara always enjoyed serving other people, which included many avenues at High Street. Barbara helped with Ladies Meetings, worked in the Toddlers class, Dale worked in the Nursery, served on the Missions Committee plus they worked together in the Harvesters Class with the college-aged young people. They welcomed many people into their home over the years. Countless meals and pecan pies were prepared and served to dear friends. Barbara loved cooking and especially loved making her pies. She was a Godly example to her children and to anyone she came into contact with. The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice Compassus and to the staff of Woodland Manor for their love and care of Barbara. Although Barbara enjoyed plants and flowers, she loved and supported dear friends in the ministry even more. So in lieu of plants and flowers, her wish was to bless her missionary friends. Donations can be sent to Diann Peel, PO Box 8753, Springfield, MO 65801. Services will be held at Greenlawn North Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Visitation will start at 10:00 am and the funeral will be at 11:00. Online condolences may be left at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com
