Barbara Sue Bruton, daughter of Marvin and Olive (Pinegar) Smith was born in Red Top, Missouri on July 19, 1937 and passed away on March 31, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield Mo. She was united in marriage to Cecil Junior Bruton on April 26, 1958 and to this union two sons were born, Dennis and Michael. Barbara was a licensed beautician for many years and retired from the Strafford School System after twenty plus years of service.

Barbara was proud to be a born again Christian and she loved going to High Street Baptist Church where she was a member for over 60 years. She also loved gardening, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family and her family loved spending time with her and will miss her greatly.

She is survived by her sons Dennis and wife Melody, Michael and wife Terry, grandsons, Casey and wife Scarlett, Sean and wife Allison, Jevin and Jakob, great grandchildren, Benjamin, Julia, Haley, Madison, Alora, Aliza, brother, Bill and wife Glenda Smith, and sister in laws Shirley Bruton, Helen Williams, Kathleen Replogle and several nieces, nephews, friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Erma Lee Krider and Deanna Walton and several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

Services will be held at Greenlawn North funeral home on Tuesday April 7, 2026 with visitation at 10:00 a.m., funeral at 11:00 a.m. and burial at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
