Becky Ann Carter (née Summers) passed away peacefully the evening of Sunday, November 16th in Aurora, Colorado. Becky was born in Albuquerque, NM on June 26, 1962. Becky was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandparent, and friend. She graduated Willard High School and Southwest Missouri State University. While attending SMSU, she met the love of her life, Jim Carter. After graduation they moved to Alaska, where Becky gave birth to their two daughters, Nila and Heather. Becky was a wonderful wife and mother, always attentive to her family.
In 1990, Jim and Becky felt the Lord calling them to be missionaries. They served as missionaries in Alaska for nearly 30 years before moving to Cheyenne, WY in 2022 to be closer to their grandchildren. One of Becky’s greatest ministry endeavors was founding and running a pregnancy care center in Juneau, AK. Becky was an amazing woman and will be dearly missed by so many.
Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Summers, and her father, Robert Summers. Becky leaves behind her husband, Jim Carter; two daughters, Nila Rhoades and Heather (Chaz) Bell; six grandchildren, Ronan Rhoades, Melody Bell, Caedmon Bell, Killian Rhoades, Sylas Bell, and Elowen Rhoades. She also leaves behind her sisters, Carin (Lowell) Yates, Dianna (Ron) Earhart, and Robin Page. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held at Graceway Baptist Church in Springfield, MO on December 2nd at 10am with the Memorial Service to follow at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please bring memorial contributions of baby diapers or monies to be donated to the Pregnancy Care Center of Springfield, MO (417pcc.org/giving). Memorial contributions in Becky’s honor can also be made to the Juneau Pregnancy Resource Center (juneaupregnancyresource.org/donate) in Juneau, AK – founded by Becky Carter.
