Bessie Denora (Buckley) Nimmo was born on October 28, 1917, in Myrtle, Oregon County, MO., and departed to her heavenly home on August 25, 2015 at the age of 97 years and 10 months. She was saved and baptized into the Baptist Church in September 1931. On May 28, 1937, she married D.H “Shorty” Nimmo. As husband and wife they owned several businesses, including grocery stores, service stations, pottery/gift shop, Stuckey’s, and Silverleaf Shopping Center. Her husband preceded her in death on March 24, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Erva Mondy Buckley, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, 1 grandson, 1 great-granddaughter, and 2 sons-in-law. She was a member of Wilson Creek Baptist Church. Bessie is survived by 3 daughters; Sue Chastain and Ann Smith of Springfield, and Dolly Baker of Battlefield, MO., 2 sons; Charles and wife Brenda Nimmo of Reed Springs, MO, and Harold and wife Karen Nimmo of Battlefield, MO. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 10 great great-grandchildren, 3 great great great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her church family. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015, 6:00-8:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 29, 2015, 10:00am, also at Greenlawn North. Pastor Randall Moody and John Roberson will be officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Seasons Hospice, 1831 W.
