Bethel Mary Stewart, 89, of Springfield, passed away January 10, 2013. Born in Fair Grove, Missouri, May 23, 1923, to Troy and Nora (Bridges) Alexander, she was one of six children.
Bethel married Orville R. Stewart on January 10, 1942, and to this union three children were born. She retired from Lily Tulip after 32 years of service and enjoyed flowers, feeding birds and collecting dolls and dishes.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville; and a son-in-law, James Combs. Bethel is survived by her children, Donna Hulse and her husband, Loren, Linda Combs, and Gary Stewart; four grandchildren and their spouses, Barry Hulse and wife Laura, Jeff Hulse and wife Maggie, Wendy Stone and husband Richard, Randy Combs and wife Stacy; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 14, 2013, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m., just prior to the service.
