Betty Evelyn Harr (Ma) age 77 from Heber Springs, AR, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, September 11, 2013, in Little Rock, AR. She was born December 13, 1935, in southeast Missouri to the late Thomas Canoy and Rosa Ann Canoy. On May 29, 1964, she was united in marriage to Robert Edward Harr in Sikeston, MO.
She is survived by two sisters Wanda Rodgers and Dorothy Brisco; four daughters Jennifer and Alvin Meyer of Mount Vernon, MO, Melissa and Paul Hill of Phoenix, AZ, Amy and Christopher Buell of Phoenix, AZ, Lori and Paul Shott of Heber Springs, AR, and two cherished nephews Adam Gadberry of Morehouse, MO, and Michael Irvin of Columbia, MO; grandchildren Jarrod and Elizabeth Abernathy, Luke and Tara Meyer, Emily, Ana, Evan, Seth, and Madeline Hill, Reagan Buell, Stanley, MaryEllen, Michaela, and Ileana Shott, Nadia and Trey Watson; three great grandchildren Cooper, Carsen, and Catie Abernathy; and many nieces and nephews who lovingly knew her as “Aunt Ebb” and whom she loved as her own.
She was preceeded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert Edward Harr, grandson Nick Edward Abernathy, nephew Stephen Gadbury, and niece Veronica “Roni” Eubanks.
Ma was happiest when surrounded by her friends and family. From a young age, she was unwavering and constant in her quiet faith. Her family’s hearts are lifted knowing that she is now surrounded by the music that she has always so dearly loved, and worshiping Jesus.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 16, at 11:30 a.m. at the Greenlawn Funeral Home East in Springfield, MO, with Pastor Jojo Riggs officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery following the funeral service.
