Betty Frances Blankenship, 87, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away on February 21, 2024. Betty was born on June 7th, 1936, in Springfield, Missouri, to Willard Stewart and Juanita (Collins) Bewley. Betty was a graduate of Bolivar High School. She was a member of Center Point Missionary Baptist Church. Betty was saved in 1957, at Good Hope Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Donald Wrinkle in 1952, and to this union two daughters were born: Sharon and Brenda.
Betty owned and operated a Beauty Shop for several years. She also worked in other industry through the years. Betty married Lowell Blankenship in 1973, and they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. Betty taught herself how to play the piano. She played by ear and it was her passion. Betty and Lowell were often found leading the song service at church, or any other event they were asked to perform at. Betty loved life, even when ill she never complained. Everyone who knew her loved to spend time with her because of her positive outlook and fun personality. Betty’s greatest desire in life was for everyone to be saved and go to Heaven. This included her family, who she loved so much, with a special love for her granddaughter and great grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Willard Stewart and Juanita Bewley; her step-dad, who helped raise her, Carl Bewley; brother, Lee Stewart; sister, Jane Ann Moore, and her husband, Tom, and her son-in-law, Calvin Stoops.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell Blankenship; her daughters, Sharon Stoops and Brenda Wrinkle; granddaughter, Traci, and husband, Chris; greatgrandchildren: Colin Smithson and Megan Smithson; sister, Mary Houk, and husband, James; brother, Glenn Stewart, and wife, Cindy, and many other family and friends.
A funeral service for Betty will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, Missouri. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southwest Christian Academy at 30 Foose Buffalo, Missouri 65622.
