Betty Jane Guffey passed away Thursday, Mar. 20, 2014 in Manor Care in Springfield, MO. She was born Dec. 29, 1924 in Granite City, IL, the daughter of Pacific and Opal Caudron.
Betty had retired from SMSU where she worked as a night host at Kentwood Hall, and had built many loving and lasting relationships with the students. She loved gardening, animals and fishing with her children and grandchildren. Betty dearly loved her family and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mayer Guffey in 1981, brother James Caudron, sister Doris Whittington. Betty is survived by her children; Frank Bartlett, Jerry Bartlett, Clint Guffey, and Cindy VanBuskirk, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday March 24, 2014 from 1-3 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services will start at 3:00 pm. Inurnment will be at a later date in Oak Ridge Cemetery Springfield, IL.
