Betty Jane Myers, age 77, of Morrisville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026. She was born on November 4, 1948, in Decatur, Illinois, to Everett and Corinne Howard. Betty was a loving daughter, devoted mother, and grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. She dedicated her life to serving others, working as a secretary at the Buffalo, Missouri United Methodist Church, where she touched the lives of countless individuals through her kindness and compassion.
Betty loved to sing and listen to music, she was a creative writer and artistic in many various ways. She also loved nature and would pack a picnic lunch to eat while exploring the park.
Betty is survived by her beloved daughter, Christina Vaughn, and her son, Thomas Herd Jr.; her grandchildren, Alexis Johnson (adopted daughter) and husband Anthony, Erika Fulbright, Devon Fulbright (adopted son) and wife Jazaline, Landon Fulbright and his wife Dawn, and Broc Herd; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson Shaffer, Leroy and Kinsley Fulbright, Aria Johnson, Kiryn Fulbright, and Violet and Ivory Herd; as well as her brother and his wife Jim and Sally Howard and her sister, Nancy Howard. She was adored by her many nieces and nephews who she enjoyed singing karaoke with. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in being a nurturing and supportive presence in their lives.
Betty Jane Myers will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. As we gather to celebrate her life and cherish our memories of her, we invite all who were touched by her warmth to join us in remembering a remarkable woman who exemplified love and compassion.
Betty was preceded in death by: her parents: Everett and Corinne Howard, and her son, Jared Herd.
