Betty Jo Garrison, 83, of Chattanooga, TN, formerly of Springfield, died November 11, 2010.
She was born August 22, 1927, to Curt and Maude Gilliland Richardson who preceded her death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy King.
She was a longtime member of the Dale Street Methodist Church, now known as Pathway. She enjoyed knowing her friends there.
She retired from Kraft Foods. She enjoyed music, dancing and her pets.
She volunteered with the Springfield Blind Association and later served as president. She also belonged to the Business Women’s group in Springfield.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Nelson, of Springfield, and a son and daughter in law, Steve and Debbie Garrison, of Chattanooga, TN. Also surviving are a niece and nephew, and several great nieces and nephews. Also a cousin, Louis Wolfe, survives as well as several local relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Garrison will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2010 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with burial in Wade Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. in the funeral home.
A memorial has been set up for the Springfield Blind Association and may be sent to Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
