Betty J. McGhee went home to be with Jesus in the early morning hours of February 2, 2017, at the age of 76, and was also reunited with the love of her life, Morris McGhee, who preceded her in death eleven years ago. She was born to parents Walter and Dorothy Cain on June 13, 1940, in Lynwood, California where she attended Lynwood High and graduated in 1958. Betty was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker and only went to work after her children were out of school. She worked at various places over the years including the Battlefield Mall, and even had her own office cleaning business before finally retiring.
Betty enjoyed the simple things in life like watching the sun rise, going on day trips, watching QVC, sitting at McDonald’s drinking sweet tea while visiting with people, and chocolate…..she loved chocolate. She enjoyed attending Galloway Full Gospel Church and really loved the people there.
Betty is survived by her daughter Kim, her son Todd, brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Juanita Matarazzo, various nieces and nephews and her “chicken buddy”, Rose English.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm at Greenlawn North. Services will be held at Greenlawn North on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10:00am.
