Betty Lou Lumley, age 81, of Marshfield, Mo., passed away Monday, January 3, 2011, in Cox South Medical Center. She was born October 2, 1929, in Springfield, Mo., to Virgil and Myrtle (Hacker) Girth.
She was a member of the Baptist Temple. Betty worked as a Nurse Tech. for Cox Medical Centers for 27 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lumley; parents, Virgil and Myrtle (Hacker) Girth; two sisters, Patsy Girth and Barbara Peck; and one son, Charles Sidney Burnett.
She is survived by one daughter, Diana L. Compton and husband Tony of Marshfield, Mo.; two sons, Arthur Burnett and wife Janice of Springfield, and Steven Burnett and wife Gail of Marshfield; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two brothers, Jerry Girth and wife Linda of Billings and Larry Girth and wife Shelley of Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo., with Rev. Gary Longstaff officiating. Burial will be held in National Cemetery, Springfield, Mo. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.

The family would like to thank two wonderful neighbors, Vernon and Florence Stemmons and Wesley and Brenda Pittman, who helped her to get to stay at her home for as long as she possibly could.
