Betty Lou VanSteenberg, age 85, of Nixa, Missouri, and formerly of Washington, Illinois, passed away on January 23, 2026. She was born on August 29, 1940, in Leachville, Arkansas. She married David L. Stuart Sr. on January 31, 1960.
She worked at Target for many years as a sales clerk. Betty was passionate about sewing, creating blankets for new mothers, friends, and family. She was generous and loved to give of herself, sometimes more than she probably should have.
Her loving family includes her children, Lagena K. Jenkins and David (Diana) Stuart Jr. She will be missed by her three grandsons, one granddaughter, eight great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sons, Donald E. Stuart and Danny Stuart; brother, George Dublin; and sister, Loretta Dublin.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, Illinois. Her daughter, Lagena Jenkins, will officiate.
