On Friday November 21st, Betty Roark went home to be with her Lord, with her son at her side.
Betty Sue Crockett Roark was born December 23, 1930 in Springfield, Missouri to Elbridge Guthrie Crockett and Anna Mae Slagle Crockett.
She graduated from Springfield High School (Central) in 1948. After graduation she was employed by Citizens National Bank from 1950 to her retirement in 1983.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, all nine of her siblings and by Bill, her husband of 65 years as well as her great granddaughter Kelsey.
She is survived by her son Larry, his wife Karen and their children Brad Roark and Kari Toombs (Travis).
Betty loved and is survived by her great granddaughters Kailyn and Kinsey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many other friends.
Bill and Betty owned and operated Roark Printing for over 30 years as well as Roark Stables where they boarded and showed Missouri Fox Trotters. Often when asked what she did Betty would reply, “I’m a pilot. I would pile it here and I would pile it there!”
For many years Bill and Betty, along with Larry and Karen traveled as The Roark Singers and spent many weekends in ministry providing traditional and southern gospel music in churches for Sunday services, revivals and other special events. Betty was a long-time member of High Street Baptist Church.
A very special “thank you” to Season’s Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made to Seasons Hospice.
Visitation for Betty will be Friday November 28th at 10:00 am until 11:30 am followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
