Billie (Bill) Duyane Wilson was born on September 23, 1936, in Jetmore, Kansas to Mervin and Velma (Tuttle) Wilson. He passed away December 8, 2023, at his home in Nixa, Missouri with his wife and daughter by his side.
Bill graduated from Dodge City (KS) high school in 1955 and then from the Newman School of Nursing in 1959. While at nursing training he met he met the love of his life, Roberta Wenderott, and they were married on March 6, 1959, and spend 64 wonderful years together. To this union were 4 children, Brad, Eddie, Nyla and Rod. Although he was an RN by training, he spent 50+ years as a hospital administrator, having stops in Goodland, KS, Vermillion, SD and Corydon, IA. Every place he spent time at he made a difference in the health care provided to those who were a part of that community. Roberta faithfully served as an RN and supported Bill in his professional career. Above all, family was the most important thing to Bill. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than life itself. If there was an event held, you would find Bill in attendance. He particularly loved watching and following their sporting events from the K-State Wildcats, Glendale Lady Falcons, Drury Lady Panthers, to the Cassville Wildcats, Maize Eagles or wherever else their events may take place.
Bill was immersed in every community that they lived in through the years. He was a devout Christian and was always very involved in the church. Bill was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Wichita, Kansas. He was an active member for many years in Rotary, Kiwanis, Jaycees and Elks. He always put the needs of others before himself. He was Santa at Christmas and delivered meals on wheels to the elderly, took care of the children and tirelessly served his community.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin and Velma Wilson; three sons, Bradly, Eddie and Rodney; brother, Donald Wilson; and his sister, Bonnie Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Wilson (Nixa); daughter, Nyla (Brent) Milleson (Branson); daughter-in-law, Denise Wilson (Wichita, KS) and Jamie Wilson (Caldwell, ID); four grandchildren, Barrett Milleson (Springfield), Caylor Milleson (Branson), Corey (Janessa) Wilson (Wichita), and Billye Wilson (Caldwell, ID); five great-grandchildren, Teddy Milleson, Chloe Milleson and Caylor Milleson II and Aurelia Milleson; brothers, Dean (Kim) Wilson and Leon (Sharon) Wilson; sister-in-law Barbara Wilson and Sandi (Steve) Jones; special cousins, Twila (Jim) Blakely and Mitch (Roseanne) Hylton; special aunt, Penny Hess; and a host of nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends.
