In Loving Memory of Billie Jewel Hutchinson
Billie Jewel Hutchinson, a compassionate and kind-hearted woman, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023, at the age of 92 at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. Billie was born on October 12, 1931, in the sunny state of Florida, where she embarked on a life dedicated to caring for others.
With a genuine love for people, Billie found her calling as a medical technician in a nursing home in St. Charles, Missouri for many years. She tirelessly devoted her time and energy to provide comfort and support to those in need. Billie’s warm and tender-hearted nature created an atmosphere of solace and love within the nursing home community.
Outside of her noble profession, Billie found great joy in expanding her knowledge and enriching her mind. She was an avid reader and embraced the opportunity to unravel the mysteries of the written word. Additionally, she nurtured her creative side through the art of sewing, crafting beautiful garments with love and precision. Billie also sharpened her mind through computer puzzles and games, a testament to her sharp intellect and everlasting curiosity.
Billie’s kindness extended beyond her professional and personal pursuits. She tirelessly volunteered her time at the Republic Senior Center, extending a helping hand and forming connections with fellow community members. It was during her time there that she met her beloved husband, Delbert Hutchinson, with whom she shared many beautiful and cherished moments.
Billie also found peace in spending time with her various church families including the Springfield Cowboy Church and Hillside Baptist Church.
She was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus by her parents, Hollis and Mary (Odom) Gauss; her sister, Frances Neidlinger; her son, Michael Kannewurf and Rose Mary Massano.
Billie’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones. She leaves behind her loving husband, Delbert Hutchinson, as well as her sons, Craig Hatter and his wife, Katie, and Forrest Hatter and his wife, Nicole. She is also survived by her four stepchildren, Deborah Hicks and her husband, Ronnie, David Hutchinson, Susan Lavene, and Joan Marcie Roberts and her husband, John; 11 grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren, other family members and friends. Her presence brightened the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy will be a testament to the love and compassion she brought into the world.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Billie. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
