Billy D. Harwood, beloved husband, father, community member, and veteran, passed away on March 16, 2024. He was born on June 28, 1936, in Buffalo, Missouri. Bill was a dedicated member of the Fair Grove United Methodist Church, he was Postmaster of Fair Grove for 28 years, and served on the board of O’Bannon Bank. His commitment extended to various community organizations, including the Lions Club and The American Legion. A proud veteran of the Air Force, Bill also thrived as a business owner, operating Fair Grove Small Engine Repair and tending to his farm.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Patsy Harwood, his son, Randall Harwood and wife Cheryle; his daughter, Sonja Needham; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Harwood; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Harwood and wife Sylvia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Opal Fern and Thurman Harwood, and his son, Delmar Harwood.

Bill’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his legacy of kindness and service live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Bill’s family will host a visitation on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 10:00- 11:00 am, at the Fair Grove United Methodist Church. Immediately following the visitation, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am with Pastor Jeff Brann officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill’s memory to the Fair Grove United Methodist Church (83 E Hickory, Fair Grove, MO 65648, 417-759-2508).
