Billy J Voyles was born July 26, 1928, to WD and Lula (Bay) Voyles in Springfield, MO.
He left his earthly home on December 6, 2012. Bill was a fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball and the Missouri State Basketball Bears. He attended Springfield Senior High School where he played basketball. He loved to bowl and fish.
He had a passion for singing from an early age. He sang in a Barbershop Quartet, the Shrine Chanters, Civic Aires, and the Evangel Temple Choir.
He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Fulbright, in 1946. Of this marriage three children were born, two daughters and one son.
He retired from Assemblies of God Headquarters.
Bill was a very faithful follower of Jesus and member of Evangel Temple for many years.
Bill was preceeded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Shirley, of 56 years a great granddaughter, Kiara Voyles and a sister, Adeline Voyles. Bill is survived by: Daughter, Carol Kiser of Springfield, MO, Daughter, Cathy Williams and husband Rick of Ozark, MO, Son, David Voyles and wife Linda of Phoenix, AZ. 6 grandchildren, Mike Kiser and wife Betty of Mt. Vernon, Wade Kiser of Greenville, IL, Brad Kiser of Springfield, MO, Carrie Teal and husband Troy of Webb City, MO. Chris Williams and wife Stacey of Ozark, MO, Nick Voyles of Dixon, Mo. 11 great grandchildren, Hannah Mosier, Rian Teal and Shandee, Keaton Teal, Austin Williams, Emily Williams, Eryka Williams, Vanessa Clark, Dalton Kiser, Whitney Kiser, Alison Kiser, Leila Voyles, and Maya Voyles. 3 great great grandchildren, Shya, Paisley, and Fisher. He is survived by two sisters, Mary Dutton and Ruth Gardner, both of Springfield, MO.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South and burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery.
