Blain E. Hale, age 79, of Springfield was born March 22, 1931 and passed away March 11, 2011.
He was preceded in death by son, David Hale; daughter, Janet Sue Hale; and parents, Homer F. Hale and Nova Mae Hale.
He was united in marriage to Freda Pauline Hale for 60 years. He is survied by wife, Freda; sister, Martha Elizabeth Nicholson, of Springfield; children, John and Vicki Hale, Cille and Raymond Hobbs, Alice Hale, Tommy Hale, and Freda and Mark Durr; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Blain worked for area meat-packing companies at a younger age and retired from Springfield Public Works Department. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved to put out his garden.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 2 p.m., at Antioch Brick Church. Visitation will be Monday, March 14, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
