Bobby (Bob) Gene Cotter, age 90, departed this world on Saturday, January 14th, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Price and Murial of Bois D’ arc; siblings, Glen of California and Helen Harville of Republic. He graduated from Bois D’ Arc High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army stateside during the Korean war. Bobby was a proud member of the former Railroad Express Agency and a Teamster. He is survived by three sons, Robert Cotter and wife Loue, of Springfield, Tom Cotter and wife Joetta, of Shell Knob, and Darren Cotter, of Springfield; a special friend, Janet Bayliff, of Springfield; many grandchildren who loved him dearly, Sarah, Alexander, Molly and Riley; step-grandchildren, Stecey and Randy; eight great-grandchildren, Olivia, Alexander, Owen, Rosale, Finnigan, Gidian, Viola, and Poppy; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends. After retirement Bobby filled his free time by working part-time. In his free time Bobby enjoyed casinos and was quite lucky! Bobby also enjoyed Holiday get togethers and was always the first one down on the floor to play with his grandchildren. Bobby always had a twinkle in his eyes, a smile on his face, a joke to share, and one of the best laughs ever.
Bobby never knew a stranger. Bobby held firm in his beliefs and remained true to his convictions until the end.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, January 23, 2023, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
