It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonita Rae Bocklund, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on August 13, 2026, just one day shy of her 78th birthday. Born in Morris, Minnesota, Bonita spent most of her life in Joplin, Missouri, where she cherished her role as a devoted mother and grandmother.
Bonita was a graduate of Joplin High School and pursued her career as a manager in the wholesale florist industry. Her passion for flowers mirrored her nurturing spirit, as she had an innate ability to bring beauty and joy into the lives of those around her.
An avid reader, Bonita loved immersing herself in the pages of books and sharing stories with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She took great joy in spoiling them with love and attention, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations.
As a dedicated fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Bonita found great delight in cheering for her favorite team, sharing countless game days surrounded by family and friends.
Bonita is survived by her loving son, Clay Adams and wife Sherry, of Springfield; her cherished daughter, Holly Adams, of Joplin; and her delighted grandchildren, Gentry and wife Lauren, Alexis, Asher, and Levi. She also leaves behind her great-grandsons, Langston and Koehn; a very special friend, Kayla Beaver; her many adopted children and grandchildren who brought her immense joy; along with a host of family and friends. Bonita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dale Bocklund; parents, Ray and Betty Younger; and an infant sister, Rae Ann Younger
As we bid farewell to Bonita, we hold her memory close to our hearts and celebrate the profound impact she made on our lives. May she rest in eternal peace.
