Bonnie C. Russell passed away March 25, 2013 at Boone County Hospital. Visitation will be at 1:00 Saturday, March 30, followed by a graveside service at 2:00, Greenlawn Funeral Home , Springfield, MO.
She and her husband lived in Columbia from 1953-1978 while Walter was on the faculty at MU. Bonnie was active in her church and volunteered at area hospitals. They retired to their home town of Springfield in 1978 where she volunteered at nursing homes and Teen Challenge. Returning to Columbia in 2007 they resided at Lenoir Woods Retirement Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Rosa Johnson, and twin sister Rachel.
She is survived by her husband Walter,daughters Anne DeVore and Deborah Stith of Columbia, Sister Mary Ellen Bartlett of Eustis FL, two grandsons and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Lenoir Woods Benevolent Fund, 3710 Lenoir St. Cpolumbia, MO 65201.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North from 1-2 pm. Funeral services will start at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
