Bonnie “BonBon” Jean Woodall, age 97, of Springfield, MO, transitioned peacefully in her sleep on October 30, 2023. She was born on Thanksgiving Day November 26, 1925, to Stafford Lee Sims and Olevia May Gilbert.
Bonnie received a MS in Education from Drury Collage in 1972 and taught English at Reed Jr. High in Springfield for 21 years. After retirement, she moved to a farm in Clever, MO where she thrived on gardening, sewing, searching for collectibles at estate sales, and renovating her commercial real estate properties. She was an avid reader who loved to write poetry and mystery stories.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her former husbands, Paul A. Deschamp and Ernest G. Woodall; her sisters, Tressie Gossage, Margaret Zinn, Joyce RuBert; and her brothers, Stanley Sims, Albert Sims, and Louis G. Sims, Sr.
She is survived by her only daughter, Paula Deschamp and her husband Jeffrey Evans; her nieces, Sue Savage Rumbaugh, Lao Rubert, Diane Queen and Mayetta Sims; her nephews, Russ RuBert and Mark RuBert; numerous great nieces and nephews, special friends, Marsha and Shirley Lawrence, Joyce Jensen and many other loving friends near and far.
We love you BonBon. Your legacy travels on with us. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
