Brenda Sue (Roeder) Franklin completed her life’s journey on April 12, 2013 in her home. She was born in Charles City, Iowa, September 7, 1971.
Brenda graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1990 and SMSU in 1995 with a BA in Business Education. For many years Brenda was a Rainbow Girl in Springfield, MO making countless friends. She worked for UPS Supply Chain Solutions for many years as a Customer Service Representative.
She earned her nickname “Grace” at a fairly early age. Brenda was rather prone to hurting herself, either falling down or walking into something, but could always laugh about those events after the fact. She had a weekly standing special date with her mother to go play Bingo that she always looked forward to.
Brenda loved to read, she was a big movie and T.V. fan and was quite content being left to do what she wanted to do. With that being said, she was always up to riding around town or the country or just simply going for ice cream and watching traffic.
She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; one aunt; several uncles and cousins.
Survivors include her husband, Scott Franklin; her “babies,” Shadow and Veruca Salt; her parents, Tom and Mary Roeder; brother Bruce Roeder; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Jacklyn Gibson of Springfield; as well as many other family members and friends.
The celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Harvest Hill Baptist Church, Strafford, MO. This will be a casual and informal gathering to remember the life of a truly special lady who is being missed by so many.
