After a courageous battle with cancer, Brent A. Short, 42, of Rogersville, MO. passed away peacefully November 29, 2010, at home surrounded by family and close friends. He was born October 11, 1968, in Springfield, MO. to John and Linda Short. Brent graduated from Logan-Rogersville High School in 1987. For the past 18 years Brent has been a partner of Magnum Steel, Inc. and has worked on several construction projects in the local area which include the Springfield-Branson National Airport, Republic High School, St. John’s Surgery Center and The Ozark Community Center.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; parents, John and Linda Short of Rogersville; brother and wife, Greg and Shell Short of Fordland; sister and husband, Johnna and Chris Pedersen of Strafford; brother and wife, Gary and Chanon Short of Springfield; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Trula Cook of Rogersville; sister-in-law and husband, Carlynn and Lt. Col. Donald Welch of Quantico, Va.; brother-in-law and wife, Dean and Lori Cook of Springfield; sister-in-law, Angie Good of Nixa; seven nieces; six nephews and many cherished family members. Brent was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Brooks and Irene Grier and paternal grandparents Dale and Kathleen Short. Brent had a sharp sense of humor, was a loving husband, son, brother, and friend, willing to help anyone in need. He loved the outdoors, had a passion for big game hunting and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
A celebration of Brent’s remarkable life will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, December 2, 2010 in Greenlawn Funeral Home East at 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, Mo. 65809.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 6 to 8 P.M. also in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Brent’s memory to Three Rivers Hospice West, 631 North Spring Park Blvd., Mt. Vernon, MO. 65712
