Newton ‘Bud’ Ralph Hawkins, age 77, passed away peacefully with his loved ones at his side on Friday, December 19, 2025. Bud was born on January 22, 1948 to Calvin and Norma Hawkins in Gainesville, Missouri. Bud graduated from Gainesville High School.
Bud was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was rooted in family, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He had a gift for storytelling and could often be found sharing a tale from the past. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and driving the backroads he loved so much.
Bud began his career employed with Zenith where he worked for 23 years. While working at Zenith, he earned a degree from OTC. He spent the rest of his working years in various jobs including electrical engineer, tv repairman, landscaper, and commercial/residential electrician. No matter the job, he was known for his problem-solving mind, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others. If something was broken, he was usually the one who could fix it—or at least explain how it worked.
Above all, Bud cherished time with his family. He was married to his wife Pam for 49 years, with whom he built a life centered on love, resilience, and togetherness. He was a proud father of three children, Darrin, Derrick, and Kristin, and found great joy in watching his family grow through his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
Bud is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Hawkins, of the home; son, Derrick (and spouse Jennifer) Hawkins of Fordland; daughter, Kristin (and spouse Neil) Singh of Springfield; his cherished grandchildren: Joseph, Isabelle, Alyssia, Calvin, and Azariah; sister, Jan Groenemann of St. Peter’s; brother, Rob (and spouse Sandra) Hawkins of Mountain Grove; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Norma Hawkins; and son, Darrin Hawkins, whom he carried in his heart always.
Bud will be remembered for his stories, his love of the outdoors, and the ways he showed care for those around him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
