Buford Graddy, Jr., son of Buford Graddy, Sr. and Willie Graddy was born on March 17, 1925 in Clinton, Arkansas. Buford went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 9, 2011 at the age of 86. Buford was united in marriage to Blanche (Yocham) Graddy on August 22, 1948 in Flippin, Arkansas. The couple spent 63 happy years together. They were blessed with two sons.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche, of the home; their two sons, George and wife Dotty of Springfield, Missouri and Joe and wife Pam of Germantown, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Jennifer Newman and husband John of Springfield, Missouri; Sarah Tobin and husband Patrick of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Matthew Graddy of Memphis, Tennessee; and Michael Graddy of Germantown, Tennessee. Buford enjoyed and looked forward to spending time with his three great grandchildren: Connor, Alyssa and Liam. Buford is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Graddy of North Little Rock, Arkansas and is survived by his sister Juanita Sullivan and Hayden Graddy both of Harrison, Arkansas.
Buford was a founding partner of Petty’s Drug Company and Consumer’s Pharmacies of Little Rock, Arkansas. Upon retiring from the real estate division of AutoZone, he returned to Springfield, Missouri. He was a long-time supporter of the Missouri State University basketball. He was a faithful member of Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Missouri. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East: 3540 E. Seminole Springfield, MO. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 13, 2011, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
