Byron (Buster) Eugene Hinkle, age 85, of Springfield MO passed away July 16,2026 after a brief illness.
Buster was born in Eudora MO to Byron M. and Anna Pearl Hinkle on February 22, 1941. He graduated from Marion C. Early High School in 1959. He worked odd jobs until beginning his career as a truck driver and farmer to support his young family.
In 1978, Buster wed his second wife Joan (Summers) Hinkle and together they raised 8 children.
In 1996, Buster retired from Roadway to dedicate his time to his farm and family.
Buster is survived by his children Ron Hinkle (Cheryl), Debbie Bilderback (Randy), Kim Ortiz (Steve), Wendy Proctor (Charlie), Shelley Hinkle, Johnna Brothers (Sam), Nancy Stokes (Tony), one brother, Jim Hinkle (P.K.), 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Buster was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Joan Hinkle and a son, Monty Robertson.
Visitation will be at Pitts Funeral Home, Bolivar MO, July 27, 2026 from 11:00 am -1:00 pm . Graveside service will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
