C.A. “Bud” Biglieni of Springfield, Mo. passed away in Mercy Hospital on February 6, 2013. Bud was born in Republic, Mo. to Carl and Eva (Hunt) Biglieni. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Jo Anna of the home and three sisters, Carol Law, Jimmie Ruzicka and Gerri Dickens, all of Springfield and many nieces and nephews.
He grew up on a farm near Bolivar, Mo. He attended school in Pleasant Hope, Strafford and Draughn’s Business College, and did electrical construction work in and around Kansas City, Mo. Bud decided to become a minister of the gospel. He quit his job and enrolled in Bear Valley School of Preaching in Denver, Co. where he graduated in 1969. He preached in congregations in Germany, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. After ministering in Kansas City for several years, he and Jo Anna moved to Fort Worth, Tx in 1982 where they made their home for over 20 years. In Texas, Bud was a member of Northwest, Las Vegas Trail and Bluff Springs, and served these congregations as minister and song leader.
He also helped out at many small churches as needed and served on the board of Texas Prison Ministry. Bud served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He said he was just a common man and tried to serve God with the talents he had. If something needed to be done, he was one of the first to volunteer.
After he became a Christian, he always had a deep conviction to excel in that capacity and felt like he had no choice. Bud always said that he didn’t know much, but God expected him to use the knowledge he had and he wanted to leave an example that everyone could follow. Bud and Jo Anna moved back to Springfield in 2004 where he was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ.
