Carl Buckner, 83, passed away peacefully in his home with his family around him on April 13, 2013 in Walnut Grove, MO. Carl was born on April 8, 1930 to Thomas Lee and Edna Buckner in Willard, MO, the youngest of three boys.
At the age of 12, Carl began his lifelong love and career of farming. As a young man he served in the Army as a Sergeant First Class in the Korean War. He also enjoyed a 22 year construction career. Carl dearly loved his farm, the outdoors, and most of all his family.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, with whom he recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary; three children, Debbie Loeber, Ben Buckner, and Fonda Underwood and husband Dale; five grandchildren, Heidi Diemer and husband Jason, Greg Loeber and wife Lindy, Ali Underwood, Carlee Buckner, and Luke Buckner; two great grandchildren, Eleah Loeber and Boston Diemer; and two brothers, Alfred Buckner and wife Jean and Tom Buckner and wife Jerry. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Dottie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two infant sisters, his infant son, Ray Lee, and his faithful farm dog, Hank.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., April 17, 2013 in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rev. Hugh Duncan officiating. Visitation will take place April 16, 2013 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North from 6-8 p.m.
