Carl Leonard Stockdale, beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 16, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was a lifelong resident of Springfield and worked many years as a baker and cook. He always enjoyed music, and was an accomplished fiddle player and liked to make and repair instruments. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Lucinda Suzanne “Sue” Stockdale of the home; children, Harold S. “Steve” Stockdale and family of Lebanon, Dallas Stockdale and family of Fair Play, and Carla Chambers and family of Springfield. He leaves behind 9 beloved grandchildren and one on the way. Leonard also left behind 7 brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Ellen, and sisters Janice Rose and Lois Messina. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, December 20, 2013, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
