Carl Mark “Bruno” Pennell died at Barnes- Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO at 9:45 AM on Monday June 17, 2013 after a 4 month battle with heart disease.
Carl was a graduate of Bolivar High School Class of ’57. He was honorably discharged from the Armed forces in 1961 and went on to be a professional truck driver, working for many companies and teaching others to drive.
Carl loved to play golf. He had a huge soft spot in his heart for children and animals. He was a member of Zion Primitive Baptist Church at his time of passing and also retained a membership at Fruitland Road Country Church. He had a deep abiding love for God and all his creation.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 17 years, Susan Pennell; his brother John Pennell and wife Anita; two very special daughters, Thressa Kee (Terry Bond) and Tina Kee (Todd Serp); special grandkids Christina Kee and Tami Kee-Todd, Jessica Ober and Jason Howe, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He leaves behind too many friends to count in Bolivar and Alton, Missouri.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, George and Georgia Pennell, special grandson Dylan Howe and his brothers Robert and Theodore.
Funeral service for Carl M. Pennell will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 21, 2013 at Pitts Chapel Bolivar, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6:00 -8:00 PM on Thursday June 20 in the Chapel. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Gardens will full Military Honors.
