Carl Hobson, age
76, passed away in his home in Bolivar, MO, on August 25, 2013. Carl was born on July 26, 1937, in Santa
Paula, CA, at home to Bonnie and Elgie Hobson.
He went to Santa Paula High School and then to Ventura Junior
College. He served in both the Marines
and Air Force. In California he owned
and operated butcher shops before moving to Bolivar, MO, in 1985, where he
owned the Gold Rush Restaurant for nine years.
He liked to fish, garden, and gamble.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
his sister Barbara, and his brother Charles “Bob”.
Carl is survived by his wife Coralyn
“Corky” of Bolivar; his sons: Deric of Paso Robles, CA, Matt Hobson of
Springfield, MO, and Jeff Hobson of Bolivar, MO; daughter Bonnie Hobson of
Springfield, MO; Step-sons: Don Hobson of Camarillo, CA, and Steve Hobson of
Grass Valley, CA; eight grandchildren; brothers: E. Lee Hobson, Mark Hobson,
and David Hobson all of California; sisters: Betty Moore of Arizona, and Nancy
Denton of California; as well as many other relatives and friends.
