Carl Wayne Forgey, age 90, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away on March 23, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Carl was born to Gene and Sarah Roller Forgey on August 30, 1935, in Sparta, Missouri. He was raised in Ozark and graduated from Ozark High School in 1953. Carl was united in marriage to Mildred Mitchell on May 3, 1956, in Highlandville, Missouri. Carl and Mildred shared 69 years and 10 months before Carl’s untimely passing on March 23, 2026. The couple were blessed with two children, Larry and Keith Forgey.
Carl was employed as a sewing machine mechanic with HD Lee Company for 30 plus years. When not working, he had many interests and pastimes including farming and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Nothing, however, brought him more fulfillment than his family.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Sarah Forgey and a brother, Ray Forgey. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; son, Larry and wife, Frankie; son, Keith and wife, Amy; five grandchildren: Renee and husband, Tracy Killion, Rashel Pack, Kendall Forgey, Layne Forgey, and Kade Forgey; one great-grandson, Colton Pack; sister, Norma Freeman; along with several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Carl Forgey will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, 11:00 am, at Selmore Cemetery in Ozark, Missouri, with pastor Jacob Collins officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center in Ozark, Missouri.
