Carol Dean Cook, age 66, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024. She was born on July 2, 1957, to Melvin Cook and Dolores Jean (Briles) Wiley in Springfield, Missouri. Carol attended and graduated from Hill Crest High School. She went on to become a wonderful mother to Kristie, Marshall, and Justin.
Carol enjoyed baking her families’ favorite treats and cook delicious food to share. She also found peace in nature by spending time tending her garden. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Wiley; father, Dan Wiley; a brother, Gary Jones; and her twin sister, Sharol Cook.
She is survived by her daughter and her spouse, Kristie and Nathan Alaumbaugh; two sons, Marshall Rhea and Justin Rhea; four grandchildren, Chase, Ashliegh and Eric Alaumbaugh, and Willow Rhea; a brother, Richard Wiebe; a sister, Brenda Dickinson; thirteen nieces and nephews, Lisa Moore, Kelly Coble, Kristina Spriggs, Nikki Jones, Shawn Crossland, Tracy Wiebe, Jen Keeney, Brittani Gugel, Lani Wise, Hanna Moore, Kolten Eden, Addyson Cross, and Ellah Cross; and her close friend, Johnny Byers.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North to celebrate and remember Carol’s life. A burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
