Carolyn Sue Myers, age 77 of Springfield, Missouri, passed away, August 27, 2012 at home. She was born November 25, 1934 in Greenfield, Missouri to Huber and Perna McLemore; she graduated from Springfield High School in 1953, and spent most of her life in Springfield. Carolyn married Dale Myers in Lebanon, Missouri on June 16, 1953, and to this union two daughters were born, Rebecca and Tamara. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Rosalee Foster, Betty Jean Grabast, and Martha Fisher; and one brother, Robert McLemore. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Dale Myers; two daughters, Rebecca Avila of Springfield and Tamara Myers and her companion Jimmy Eagleburger of Willard; one grandson, Cody Avila, whom she loved dearly; one sister, Virginia Wantland and husband Edsel of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Senior Center. Carolyn, who was also lovingly referred to as “Mom” and “Grandma” by her family and “Connie” by many of her friends throughout her lifetime, will be greatly missed. She truly leaves us with a great sadness and hole in our hearts without her presence.
