Cary Eugene Tidwell, 68, passed away in his home in Springfield on Wednesday, June 13, 2013. He was born January 2, 1945, in Oakland, California. Cary married Charlie Faye Melton in Red Oak, Oklahoma, on March 13, 1965. Cary Tidwell and his wife, Faye, served overseas as Assemblies of God missionaries for 20 years in West Africa and Europe. Following missionary service, Cary began ministry with the U.S. staff of Assemblies of God World Missions as director of Personnel and Family Life and then served many years as the Executive Administrator of Assemblies of God World Missions. In 2010, he became Special Assistant to the Executive Director of AGWM. He retired from AGWM in 2011. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda and his wife Faye. He is survived by his father, Lester and step-mother Billye (Nan) Tidwell, a sister Tonya and husband Troy Drake, daughters Kimberly Tidwell and Chele and husband Doug Sachs, grandchildren Katherine, Benjamin and Zachary. He was loved by many and greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, Missouri with funeral services at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2013. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3506 N. National, Springfield, Missouri.
