Catheryn LaVerna Swain, 81, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010. She was born October 22, 1929 in Springfield, Mo., and graduated from Central High School class of 1946 Springfield, Mo. Catheryn LaVerna Swain, 81, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010. She was born October 22, 1929 in Springfield, Mo., and graduated from Central High School class of 1946 Springfield, Mo.
On April 24, 1948 she married Arthur Jennings Swain, Jr.
They were members of Assemblies of God in Mt. Vernon.
Her hobbies included art and painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Grace Gallion; brothers, John Gallion, Paul Gallion and Ben Gallion; sisters, Bonnie Gallion and Mary Ruth Russell.
She is survived by husband; Arthur J. Swain Jr.; Sister, Eva Leach, children and their spouses, Sheryl McCarty, Julia Snyder, Roy Swain, Rebekah Roberts, Grady Swain, Jackie Swain; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, December 3, 2010 at 2 P.M. in Assemblies of God, Church on the Loop in Mt. Vernon, Mo.
